Health Ministry State Minister Dr. Shah Mahir said around 20% of the Maldives’ eligible population has received both doses of the COVID-19 vaccine.
In the ceremony held to launch the “I am vaccinated” campaign, State Minister Dr. Mahir stated that the Maldivian vaccination campaign was doing well in comparison to other nations.
According to the Minister, 65 percent of the total eligible population had received their first dose of the vaccine and 20 percent had received their second dose since starting the vaccination campaign in February.
Furthermore, Minister Dr. Shah said that even with precautions, the country would have to deal with the virus in the future. He also stressed the importance of keeping track of global trends in the spread of the virus for the tourism industry.
