The Maldives government has provided higher education loans to 449 students pursuing higher education in the country and abroad.
The final list prepared by the Ministry of Higher Education featured 449 students, an increase from the preliminary list’s 417 loan recipients. According to the higher education ministry, the recipients will receive their loan award notification on June 24 via email.
The government revealed its higher education financing scheme for 2021 in February. This year’s loan scheme included seats for people with disabilities for the first time, as well as provisions for additional fees spent by students who relocated from the atolls to Male’ for their studies.
Furthermore, the number of countries to which full funding is available was increased for higher education loan scheme for 2021.
