The Ministry of Tourism revealed that 80% of tourism industry workers have received two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine as part of the “I am vaccinated” program.
According to the most recent figures from the tourism ministry, more than 97% of tourism workers have gotten the first dose of the vaccination, while 80% of tourism workers have received both doses of a COVID-19 vaccine.
According to data from the Health Protection Agency, 259,761 people had gotten two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine, while 320,887 had received one dose.
In February, Maldives started a large-scale Covid-19 vaccination programme for airport and tourism industry employees as part of the country’s efforts to revitalise the tourism industry.
The “I’m Vaccinated” campaign aims to spread a positive message about vaccination among tourism industry workers while also discussing actions that are being implemented to guarantee the Maldives remains one of the safest travel destinations in the world.
