The A-level examinations will be held in the Maldives between October and November from now on, the education ministry said.

The education ministry stated in a circular distributed to schools that the decision was taken based on the adjustment made to the start of the academic year.

It added that schools have voiced worry that preparing students for examinations in May/June will be challenging, considering that the academic year now begins in August.

According to the education ministry, the change was decided after conversations with the principals of all institutions offering higher secondary education in the country.
