Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) development project at Aa. Ukulhas Harbor is anticipated to be completed in two months, MTCC CEO Adam Azim said on Tuesday.
During an inspection of the Aa. Ukulhas Harbor Quay Wall and Jetty Construction Project, Azim noted that it has progressed by 60% and is scheduled to be completed in the next two months.
He also indicated that the land reclamation project at Aa. Ukulhas is set to begin in the middle of next year, with the harbor development project expected to be completed by the end of 2021.
The project involves dredging and excavation operations totaling 19,630 cubic meters, the construction of a 31-meter breakwater, a 136-meter quay wall, a 138.73-meter jetty, and the installation of 580 square meters of harbor pavement.
The harbor development project is estimated to cost MVR 19.9 million.
