Aasandha has suspended two clinics over fraudulent billing. The clinics billed Aasandha for services not provided to the patients.
The General Manager of Aasandha Company Ltd. Aminath Zeeniya said that they found that the company was billed for services never provided to the patient via the SMS notification and after investigating, they have suspended two clinics for fraudulently billing Aasandha. Moreover, 15 percent of complaints received to Aasandha are about fraudulent billing since the inception of its new SMS notification system.
Sometimes when the patient goes seeking a service that is not covered under Aasandha, a large amount is charged from them, and the same amount is billed to Aasandha. They also received reports of instances where customers were charged double the amount, Zeeniya added.
Zeeniya warned that they take these complaints very seriously and urged the public’s cooperation to provide all necessary information and documents for the investigation as soon as possible.
