The Health Protection Agency has withdrawn Addu City from the COVID-19 monitoring list due to a decrease in daily cases.
On August 28, Hithadhoo, Maradhoo, Maradhoo Feydhoo, and Feydhoo in Addu City were placed under monitoring mechanisms, while Hulhumeedhoo was placed under monitoring mechanisms on September 4.
According to the Health Protection Agency (HPA), Addu City was withdrawn from the COVID-19 monitoring status since it is no longer necessary for it to do so.
Due to the deterioration of the COVID-19 situation in the city, Addu City Council approved new restrictive measures to combat the virus’s spread towards the end of November. This resulted in a decrease in the number of people testing positive, with no documented daily cases on certain days.
According to the most recent COVID-19 data released by Addu City, only four people tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. There are 44 active cases in the city, including 34 from Hithadhoo, five from Maradhoofeydhoo, two from Maradhoo, and two from Meedhoo.
