Adhaalath Party has announced its support for President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih’s re-election bid in a statement following discussion with Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) over the past two days.
Adhaalath stated that backing President Solih was the best way to maintain and protect the current situation. The President welcomed Adhaalath’s decision via Twitter, expressing his gratitude and desire to work together for a better future.
MDP Chairperson and Economic Minister Fayyaz Ismail also thanked Adhaalath for their decision, stating that it was made for the benefit of the country and its people. Despite challenges faced by Adhaalath both within and outside the coalition, MDP is pleased with their decision to stand by the ruling party for the upcoming election, as both parties believe in the importance of a coalition government for true peace and development.
