For the third time in two years, the Maldives has won the proposal to host AFC Cup Group D matches within the South Asia zone.
Club Eagles will face Bengaluru FC of India in the final round of the AFC Cup South Asia play-off on August 15, the first match of the AFC Cup fixtures set to take place in the Maldives from August 15 to 24.
The winner of the play-off will be assured of the final AFC Cup Group D spot. The group stage matches will take place on August 18, 21, and 24, with each side playing one match against each other. In addition, two matches have been scheduled for each match day.

Group Stage: ATK Mohun Bagan – Club Eagles/Bengaluru FC on August 18
Group Stage: Maziya SRC – Bashundhara Kings on August 18
Group Stage: Club Eagles/Bengaluru FC – Bashundhara Kings on August 21

Bassam Adeel Jaleel, President of the Football Association of Maldives (FAM), indicated that the Maldives submitted the proposal to avert the cancellation of AFC Cup matches after Maldivian football clubs had invested so much on the competition.
Maziya and Eagles had begun preparations for the AFC Cup group stage matches, with additional player transfer action expected before the start of the competition.
