Air France, France’s national carrier, has reinstated direct flights to the Maldives with the arrival of the winter season.
For the fourth year in a row, the airline will operate winter flights from France to Velana International Airport (VIA) until March 2022.
According to Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL), Air France will conduct three weekly flights to VIA using its Boeing 787-9 aircraft.
According to tourism ministry figures, France accounts for around 2% of overall visitor arrivals in the Maldives, making the nation a significant source market for the tourism industry.
