On the occasion of Clean Air Day for Blue Skies, the environment ministry set up a system to monitor air quality in Male’ City, the Maldivian capital, on Tuesday.
Environment Minister Aminath Shauna, indicated that, in addition to Male’ City, air quality monitoring devices will be installed in various locations throughout the Maldives.
According to the environment ministry, those who want to monitor the air quality in the Maldives should download the app Air Visual and pick the Ministry of Environment, Climate Change, and Technology.
The app shows that Male’ City now has a moderate level of air pollution. ‘Moderate’ air quality is considered acceptable by the US Environmental Protection Agency. A tiny percentage of unusually sensitive people, on the other hand, may have some cause for concern.
