The People’s Majlis has agreed to invite Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to make an address to the parliament during her planned visit to the Maldives.
The Bangladeshi prime minister is set to arrive in the Maldives on Wednesday for a five-day visit, according to the President’s Office.
The 44 MPs present for today’s session unanimously decided to send an invitation to Prime Minister Hasina to attend the People’s Majlis and give an address.
People’s Majlis Speaker Mohamed Nasheed, who presided over today’s meeting, stated that cabinet members, key government officials, and schoolchildren will be invited to the Majlis sitting in which the Bangladeshi prime minister will give a speech.
