Bangladesh’s Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will undertake an official visit to the Maldives, according to the country’s foreign secretary.
Bangladeshi Foreign Secretary Masud Bin Momen announced the visit at a courtesy meeting with Maldivian Vice President Faisal Naseem in the President’s Office on Sunday.
Masud Bin Momen stated that the Bangladeshi prime minister will visit the Maldives later this year, but no date has been set.
Topics of discussion during the meeting:
- Enhancing regional trade and connectivity, economic cooperation, tourism and agriculture
- Bangladesh invited Maldivian foreign service staff for training in their newly established Foreign Service Institute.
During the discussion, they also highlighted the two nations’ tight bilateral relationships, emphasising that the frequent encounters between top officials from both countries this year had helped to deepen relations.
