With the help of the Bank of Maldives (BML) Community Fund, a BBQ area has been built at Goidhoo, Baa Atoll.
Goidhoo Sports and Youth Development Society designed the BBQ area, which includes a hut, barbeque grills, and an eating area with tables and seats. To guarantee effective waste management, dustbins are strategically placed around the room.
According to the bank, BML has been able to finance extraordinary initiatives that have played a critical part in the development of the islands’ infrastructure and assisted the people in engaging socially.
BML expressed joy in assisting Goidhoo and hoped that this initiative will add to the island’s excellent communal spirit.
Hassan Nizam, President of Goidhoo Sports and Youth Development Society, stated that the project’s goal was to create a space for families to strengthen relationships and bring the community together in the spirit of recreation and relaxation.
He also expressed gratitude to BML and the society’s members for their assistance in completing this project.
Community Fund is a program that encourages people and non-profit organizations to give back to their communities through long-term initiatives. BML has financially funded 60 initiatives around the country since the inception of the Community Fund.
