Bank of Maldives (BML) made a net profit of MVR 298 million in the second quarter of 2021.
According to BML’s quarterly financial report, the bank’s revenue in the second quarter was MVR 785 million, up 5% from the previous quarter.
Furthermore, BML recorded a net profit of MVR 298 million in the second quarter, a decrease of 16% from MVR 357 million in the first quarter of 2021.
BML earned MVR 409 million in profit before taxes in the second quarter of 2021, a 28% increase over the same period in 2020.
The ongoing pandemic has had an impact on BML’s financial status; however, the bank has been offering financial support to small and medium-sized businesses to aid in the recovery of the country’s economy.
