In a board of directors meeting held today, Bank of Maldives (BML) has finalized to distribute MVR 15 per share as dividend, a total of MVR 80.7 million.
According to the annual report of 2020, BML made a profit of MVR 325 million last year which is 68% lower than 2019.
BML’s CEO Tim Sawyer said last year’s profit was affected by the COVID-19 pandemic which halted the bank’s main works and services.
Furthermore, he thanked customers and its employees for supporting the bank during a difficult time and he said the bank is always looking for ways to improve its services.
BML will distribute the dividends before the book closure date to all its registered shareholders. Book closure date is set to be announced soon along with Annual General Meeting notice.
