Bank of Maldives (BML) has entered into an MoU with Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) to establish a dedicated Oncology Ward at the hospital. This support is as part of the series of 12 high impact monthly community initiatives to celebrate the Bank’s 40th anniversary in November.
The Bank will provide MVR 3.5 million in financing for this project. The MoU was signed by Aishath Noordeen, In-charge and Acting MD of BML and Ibrahim Saleem, CEO of IGMH at a small ceremony held at the Bank earlier today.
BML’s In-charge and Acting MD, Aishath Noordeen stated, “Our 40th anniversary initiatives have focused on a number of important sectors in the country and today we are delighted to announce our support to fill a critical need in the health sector. This project will see the establishment of a dedicated ward for cancer patients and we hope it will enhance access to safe and high-quality oncology services to those in need.”
IGMH’s CEO, Ibrahim Saleem stated, “I thank and appreciate BML for this generous donation towards establishment of a ward dedicated for cancer patients. This donation would enhance the hospital’s services in providing better and advanced treatment for cancer patients. We are firmly committed to accomplish IGMH’s goal of making cancer treatment more widely accessible to all needed.”
BML is conducting several activities to commemorate its 40th anniversary.
