In a statement released today, Bank of Maldives (BML) said the bank will never contact customers asking to deposit funds in one bank account to another in any circumstance.
BML stated lately fraud callers contact customers to request to move funds from one account to another due to a system error.
The bank said it will not contact customers asking for any personal information. Moreover, BML highlighted it will not contact customers using mobile phone numbers and advised not to respond to such calls.
Furthermore, BML advised customers not to share their card details, internet banking credentials, and One Time Passwords (OTPs) with any third parties. If such details had been shared, the bank asked to immediately contact their official number 3330200.
