A British national has died of an apparent heart attack at Velana International Airport (VIA).
Maldives Airport Company Limited (MACL)’s Corporate Communications Manager, Shamman Shakir said the tourist suffered a heart attack while inside the smoking area of the airport on Thursday morning. Moreover, he passed away while being treated at VIA’s Emergency Room.
The deceased’s body has now been transferred to another hospital for further investigation.
