Visit Maldives has inked an advertising and branded content collaboration deal with CNN International Commercial to promote Maldives as a safe destination for travelers.
The agreement was signed last Monday at the Visit Maldives headquarters in Male’ City by Managing Director Thoyyib Mohamed and CNN International’s Director of Sales Abhijeet Dhar.
During the signing ceremony, Thoyyib expressed optimism that the new partnership will provide the intended results, citing the success of the previous year’s partnership between Visit Maldives and CNN.
He stated that Visit Maldives’ marketing efforts for the country are centered on ensuring tourists of the safe, distinctive, and comprehensive experiences that await them in the island nation.
He went on to say that the new relationship with CNN will help to further enhance Visit Maldives’ worldwide marketing activities.
The CNN campaign will run from September through the end of December. CNN will distribute specialized material on digital and broadcast channels for three months, including stories, videos, advertisements, and social media campaigns with a large global reach.
The marketing campaign will also be supported by relevant and engaging content across CNN platforms, including a Destination Maldives section on CNN Travel that tells the tales of the people, places, and cultures that make the Maldives varied and unique.
The campaign, according to Visit Maldives, will focus on marketing the Maldives as a safe haven, offering information about the strict safeguards in place at resorts, hotels, guesthouses, and liveaboards.
Visit Maldives began its first worldwide advertising campaign with CNN in July of last year, when the country reopened its borders following a months-long lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic, before ending it in December.
