Several key details from the Uthuru Thilafalhu Agreement between Maldives and India has been leaked by Dhiyares.
The news agency claims the leak was provided by an MNDF general and the agreement contains several clauses that threatens the sovereignty and independence of Maldives.
Some key details published so far reveal that Indian military is allowed to keep as much armor and military equipment at their base in Uthuru Thilafalhu. Moreover, the agreement can be continued for almost 60 years without re-evaluating renewal terms after 30 years.
Furthermore, the agreement was based on terms of reference submitted by the government of Maldives which includes the license to Indian military to operate Navy ships and fighter jets.
