The Civil Court, on Sunday, ordered the state to re-evaluate the bids made for a housing project in Hanimaadhoo, Haa Dhaalu Atoll, and award the project to the company with the most points.
On July 19, 2021, Dhonbez Pvt. Ltd. was awarded the project to finish work on 52 housing units and construct an additional 48 units.
SJ Construction Pvt. Ltd. and SJ Trade Pvt. Ltd., who bid on the project as a joint venture, filed a complaint with the Civil Court on August 2, 2021, challenging the decision.
The two companies alleged in their case that the National Tender Board violated Public Finance Regulations by failing to review bids for the Hanimaadhoo housing project.
According to the National Tender Board, the companies were not granted the project because they did not meet two conditions: financial resources and employer requirements.
The Civil Court concluded on Sunday that the firms satisfied the two standards, ordering that the bids, including the two companies’ bids, be re-evaluated and the project granted to the party with the most points within 20 working days.
The Hanimaadhoo housing project is worth MVR 79.4 million.
