The number of COVID-19 cases registered in Addu City has crossed 1,000, Addu Equatorial Hospital has reported.
According to Addu Equatorial Hospital, there were 13 new COVID-19 cases registered in the city on Wednesday.
In Addu City, a total of 1,088 COVID-19 cases have been documented, with 309 active cases. Maradhoo has the highest number of active cases, at 134.
The Health Protection Agency placed Hithadhoo, Maradhoo, Maradhaa-Feydhoo, and Feydhoo under monitoring mechanism on August 28 due to an increase in COVID-19 cases in Addu City, while Hulhudhoo and Meedhoo were placed under monitoring mechanism last Saturday.
According to Addu Equatorial Hospital, four patients were receiving care in admission out of the 309 active cases.
Since the beginning of the pandemic last year, Addu City has recorded four deaths.
