The Health Protection Agency (HPA) reported 1,007 new cases of COVID-19 on Saturday, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 43,782.
The statistics include 821 cases from the previous 24 hours, with the remaining 186 cases coming from backlogged samples, according to HPA.
According to the HPA, there are 793 new cases from the greater Male’ area, 183 cases from residential islands outside Male’, 5 cases from liveaboards, and 26 cases from operational resorts among the 1,007 new cases.
The total number of COVID-19 cases reported in the country has reached 43,782, with 28,013 patients having fully recovered. The total number of deaths has increased to 94 with three additional deaths reported today.
The HPA has also declared a 14-day extension of the state of health emergency.
