Health Protection Agency (HPA), on Tuesday, reported an additional 124 cases of COVID-19 infections in the Maldives, increasing the tally to 19,162.
As reported by HPA, the 124 new cases includes; 94 cases from the Greater Male’ area, 05 cases from islands outside Male’, 15 cases from operational resorts, Industrial Islands, 09 cases and 01 case from liveaboards.
Meanwhile, 16,646 people have made full recoveries in total.
Maldives currently has 2,449 active cases and 162 patients are being treated in Hospitals and Medical Facilities while 60 COVID related deaths confirmed so far.
Maldives started COVID-19 mass vaccination program on February 1. HPA states 5,755 individuals were inoculated today and from that 3,123 were from the Greater Male’ area, 2,632 were from the atolls.
90,865 individuals have now been vaccinated under the program.
The government expects to receive new shipment of vaccines from WHO this February.
