Health Protection Agency (HPA), on Thursday, reported an additional 184 cases of COVID-19 infections in the Maldives, increasing the tally to 19,346.
As reported by HPA, the 184 new cases includes; 145 cases from the Greater Male’ area, 10 cases from islands outside Male’, 24 cases from operational resorts, and 0 case from liveaboards.
Meanwhile, 16,838 people have made full recoveries in total.
Maldives currently has 2,441 active cases and 162 patients are being treated in Hospitals and Medical Facilities while 60 COVID related deaths confirmed so far.
Maldives started COVID-19 mass vaccination program on February 1. HPA states 7,446 individuals were inoculated today and from that 4,825 were from the Greater Male’ area, 2,621 were from the atolls.
98,311 individuals have now been vaccinated under the program.
HPA also announced new restrictive measures to curb the spread of the virus including the ban of dine-in services of restaurants and cafes in Greater Male’ area from 20:00 to 22:30 starting 27th February.
