The Health Protection Agency (HPA) has reported 2,137 new cases of COVID-19 infection in the Maldives in the past 24 hours. The highest daily tally so far as the surge continues.
Official records show that 1218 cases were confirmed in Greater Male in the last 24 hours, while 547 cases were confirmed in other inhabited islands.
Furthermore, 89 cases were confirmed at operational resorts, and 04 cases from liveaboard, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the Maldives to 108,732.
Meanwhile, 98,880 patients have fully recovered and 43 patients are being treated in hospitals.
The number of confirmed COVID-19 fatalities has reached 265.
