The Health Protection Agency (HPA) has reported 225 new cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, the most in a single day since June.
The residential islands outside of Male’ had the highest number of new cases, according to the HPA, with 153 new cases.
Furthermore, 39 additional cases were recorded in Greater Male’, with 33 cases reported from active resorts.
The total number of COVID-19 cases documented in the Maldives is now 86,830, including 1,520 active cases. In addition, 19 victims are being treated in a hospital and the overall number of COVID-19 deaths remained at 240.
