The Health Protection Agency (HPA) has reported 2,199 new cases of COVID-19 infection in the Maldives in the past 24 hours which is the highest number is daily cases since the pandemic began.
Official records show that 1,348 cases were confirmed in Greater Male in the last 24 hours, while 531 cases were confirmed in other inhabited islands.
Furthermore, 83 cases were confirmed at operational resorts, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the Maldives to 110,931.
Meanwhile, 100,112 patients have fully recovered and 43 patients are being treated in hospitals.
The number of confirmed COVID-19 fatalities has reached 269 with 4 reported today alone.
