Maldives Customs has seized methorphan which was being smuggled in to the country.
Customs stated that this is the first time methorphan has been seized while smuggling. The items were seized on Sept 17, according to a statement.
Customs said the drugs were seized during a search of a parcel brought to Maldives from Bahrain for containing a suspicious substance.
The initial analysis of the items found positive for methorphan, according to customs. It weighed a total of 604.50 grams.
