Dhiraagu, the country’s largest telecom provider, earned MVR 191 million in net profit in the third quarter of this year.
According to the company’s quarterly report, earnings in the third quarter was around MVR 4 million lower than in the previous quarter. Dhiraagu reported a net profit of MVR 195.8 million in the second quarter.
Despite a reduction from the previous quarter in 2021, Dhiraagu’s net profit for Q3 2021 is a 21 percent improvement over earnings recorded in Q3 2020, which were MVR 158.6 million.
The telecom company also reported an increase in revenue compared to the third quarter of 2020, earning MVR 610.2 million in revenue in the third quarter of 2021, compared to MVR 586.7 million in revenue during the same period in 2020.
Dhiraagu stated that, while income has improved in 2021, the company still confronts obstacles, such as a decrease in roaming costs owing to the closing of significant markets.
