Elections Commission chairman Ahmed Shareef resigned on Tuesday after three years of service.
Shareef said in a tweet that he has resigned from his position on the Elections Commission, stating that he has done honest and dedicated work for the previous three elections.
Furthermore, Shareef has stated that he will continue to serve the public in a different manner.
Ahmed Shareef was the Managing Director of Fenaka Corporation prior to his appointment to the Elections Commission by the Yameen administration in 2018. He was also a legislative representative for the Thulhaadhoo constituency, as well as the Secretary-General of the Elections Commission.
