Ministry of Economic Development has issued revised guidelines for the operation of businesses in the Greater Male’ Region, following further restrictions imposed due to a surge in COVID-19 cases.
According to the Economic Ministry, businesses can request permits for their employees, two for support personnel and two for delivery personnel, to work during the permissible hours under the new guidelines. If more personnel are required, the designated Excel sheet must be completed and forwarded to the Economic Ministry.
The Economic Ministry also indicated that additional permits would not be necessary for vehicles used by employees to commute to work or conduct delivery services. However, the driver of a vehicle that has already been granted a permit for delivery services during curfew hours must still obtain a permit from the economic ministry.
The Health Emergency Operation Centre (HEOC) announced the extension of curfew hours in the Greater Male’ area on Monday, noting that the curfew will now run from 04:00 pm to 08:00 am. HEOC also revealed that a permit would be necessary at all times, including during non-curfew hours.
