The Education Ministry has officially inaugurated satellite schooling in B. Fehendhoo, V. Thinadhoo, and V. Rakidhoo for the first time in the Maldives.
The inauguration ceremony was held online, at Huravee School and B. Fehendhoo School. The ceremony was attended by Vice President Faisal Naseem, who formally inaugurated the satellite school. VP Faisal took part in the ceremony from Huravee School. Meanwhile, Education Minister Dr. Aishath Ali took part in the ceremony from B. Fehendhoo School.
The main hub of the satellite school is Huravee School situated at Hulhumale’. The Education Ministry has assured that all students enrolled in satellite schools would receive quality education from LKG to Grade 8 through specially trained Huravee School teachers. Moreover, two teachers, one admin staff and a worker will be stationed at the islands to assist and facilitate the education of the students.
Satellite school is an online schooling program powered by high speed internet connection for inhabited islands that do not have public schools due to lack of facilities or an inadequate number of students.
