The Bank of Maldives (BML) and American Express have launched the third edition of their Experience Maldives campaign to promote the Maldives as a leading tourist destination on the global stage. At the launch event held at Kurumba Maldives, Vice President Faisal Naseem praised the campaign and expressed confidence in its ability to significantly boost the country’s tourism industry and economy.
Vice President Naseem described the Maldives as a tropical paradise that is renowned worldwide for its warm hospitality and scenic beauty. He further emphasised the crucial role that campaigns such as Experience Maldives play in making the country accessible to a wider audience.
Highlighting the remarkable increase in tourist arrivals this year, with over 50,000 recorded arrivals in the first ten days, Vice President Naseem credited the government’s swift response to the COVID-19 pandemic for the rapid recovery of the tourism industry.
The Vice President commended the Experience Maldives campaign as one of the most innovative and exceptional tourism initiatives, shining a spotlight on the Maldives visible to thousands worldwide. He expressed his confidence in the campaign’s potential to diversify and boost the tourism industry to new heights, citing its impressive outreach to over 100 million American Express customers.
