Fenaka Corporation has been contracted to the majority of the latest and final phase of water and sewerage development projects. Fenaka was awarded 70% of the projects during today’s special ceremony to contract the development of water and sewerage systems in inhabited islands currently without them.
This will be the biggest project to be undertaken by the corporation in its history. Fenaka assures that the physical works of the projects will commence soon and will lead by example to finish these projects as soon as possible. Moreover, the total value of this project exceeds MVR 600 million and Fenaka aims to finish all the works before the contractual deadline.
Fenaka currently manages the water and sewerage systems in most islands in the Maldives. Fenaka is confident that they can undertake this massive project to develop modern water and sewerage systems successfully across the Maldives.
Developing water and sewerage systems in all inhabited islands of the Maldives is one of the key presidential pledges of the current administration. Currently, sewerage system projects in 48 islands are ongoing along with water supply projects in 60 islands. The physical works of the sewerage system project in 22 islands are set to commence along with water supply projects in 53 islands. Moreover, sewerage system projects in 9 islands have been completed so far along with water supply projects in 8 islands.
Today marks a special milestone in the current administration, as sewerage system projects in 16 islands and water supply projects in 23 islands will be signed and handed over to various companies with majority being awarded to Fenaka Corporation.
