Fenaka Corporation Limited has announced plans to connect the electricity grids of Goidhoo, Fulhadhoo, and Fehendhoo in Baa Atoll via an underwater cable network.
Fenaka stated that it opted to connect the electrical grids of the three islands since they are adjacent to each other in the same lagoon and have a total population of only 1,500 people.
According to the corporation, the interconnected grid’s primary power station will be placed in Goidhoo, the largest and most populous of the three islands.
Fenaka has released an announcement seeking a contractor for the project to link the three islands’ electrical networks.
According to Fenaka, interested parties can register until September 29 and will be available to both domestic and foreign enterprises with a bid security of USD 100,000.
Fenaka provides energy to over 150 atoll islands and operates an integrated electrical grid in Addu City and three wards of Gan, Laamu Atoll.
