Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) announced the first shipment of rock boulders required for the breakwater construction has arrived in Sh. Foakaidhoo.
The company stated the project is progressing well and the construction of Sh. Foakaidhoo is now 58% complete.
The harbor project includes a new basin dredging operations of around 40,000 cubic meters and 1,800 cubic meters of the existing harbor basin dredging operations along with channel dredging operations of 4,000 cubic meters. Furthermore, this project consists of a 507m breakwater, 100m revetment, and a 464m quay wall. Additionally, a paved area of 2,320 square meters with the installation of navigation lights and streetlights.
MTCC said the project will cost around MVR 53 million.
