On Sunday night, the Maldives Police Service arrested five individuals who were suspected of hiding a young man wanted by the authorities in connection with a case involving gang violence. The suspect’s name is Ibrahim Faih Nizam, aged 25, from Rahdhebaige, S. Maradhoo-Feydhoo.
According to the police, the five individuals were taken into custody for concealing Faih, who was under a court order, in the Male’ area. The case is still under investigation.
The police had previously requested the public’s assistance in locating Faih on February 15th, and a second announcement was made on March 16th when they were unable to locate him. However, despite a month-long search, Faih has yet to be found.
Faih is wanted in connection with an investigation by the Serious and Organized Crime Department. While the police did not disclose the specifics of the case, recent weeks have seen a series of gang-related attacks in Male’ City. On February 24th, a young man was stabbed inside a shop in the Maafannu district of Male’ City and died from his injuries a few days later.

Anyone with information regarding Faih’s whereabouts has been urged by the police to contact the Serious and Organized Crime Department at 9911099 or call the police hotline 3322111.
