Foreign Minister of the Maldives and President of the United Nations General Assembly, Abdulla Shahid has arrived in the Maldives today.
The visit marks the first occasion that Shahid is visiting the Maldives as Foreign Minister of Maldives after being elected as the President of the United Nations General Assembly, though he made an official visit to the Maldives as President of the United Nations General Assembly last year.
Shahid is set to meet the Foreign Minister of China Wang Yi as part of the visit. Minister Yi is visiting the Maldives after accepting an invitation accepted by Shahid himself.
