The foundation stone laying ceremony has been held for the first government residential treatment center in Kudahuvadhoo, Dhaalu Atoll.
The objective of the residential treatment facility is to provide programs that rehabilitate young people who have become involved in crime and reintegrate them into society as productive citizens.
Speaking at the event, Home Minister Imran Abdulla stated that economic and financial stability are essential for individuals to live a happy and productive lifestyle, and he urged citizens to collaborate with the government and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to repair the country’s broken communities.
V-Ava Investment Private Limited has been hired to construct the two-story residential treatment center in Kudahuvadhoo in 450 days at a cost of more than MVR 21.6 million.
