HPA last night announced that government and private sector employees are to work from home unless it is necessary to attend physically.
Speaking at the press held by HPA last night, Dr. Nazla said that these measures are being taken to prevent the control of the spread and more measures will be taken if the spread is not controlled.
The new restrictive measures comes after a resurgence in COVID-19 cases as 184 new cases were reported yesterday alone.
The Health Minister warned that Greater Male’ area is in need of a lockdown as the virus spread is “out of control” despite the vaccination efforts. He further warned that vaccination efforts will be rendered useless unless we curb the spread as soon as possible.
HPA has expressed grave concerns regarding the current surge of cases and has pleaded the public to follow the safety procedures to chart our way out of this pandemic.
