President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has announced that his administration intends to conduct a mass vaccination campaign in August with the goal of vaccinating 90% of the eligible population.
The president revealed the plan for widespread immunization against COVID-19 during his address to the nation on the occasion of the country’s 56th Independence Day,
President Solih stated that the program’s primary goal is to fully vaccinate 90% of the eligible population by the end of August.
According to the president, the administration has obtained enough vaccine doses to immunise people who have yet to receive the second dosage of a COVID-19 vaccine. He also urged everyone to take advantage of this chance by getting vaccinated.
During his address to the nation, President Solih implored the people to emphasize national unity and support the government’s efforts to combat the pandemic. He also stated that the government’s first objective is to safeguard the public from the pandemic while also carrying out the country’s development initiatives and providing other critical services.
