Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has banned the unauthorized operation of food stalls near Hiyaa Flat area in Hulhumale’ Phase II.
In an announcement made today by HDC, the corporation said it noted having received complaints about failure to meet the sanitary requirements in the provision of food services at such stalls which has increased fears of possible health hazards.
Moreover, HDC also stressed that such food stalls are being operated without the necessary permits required from authorities – therefore in violation of the established rules and regulations. HDC has now ordered individuals operating food stalls in the area to remove their stalls starting from tomorrow, and completely halt the operations of food stalls by next Sunday.
Many have established food stalls near the Hiya Flats area for the purpose of selling various products as the area did not have proper establishments to sell such products,
