Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has opened applications for their digital inclusivity fair called the the SmartCom fair.
The fair is the first digital inclusivity event in Hulhumale’ under HDC’s smart city brand, SmartCom. Currently, the corporation is seeking partners for the event by reigning in all local mobile service brands.
While this is the first time the fair is being held, the corporation noted that moving forward it will be an annual event. They further noted that the event will serve as a great platform for service providers to showcase their applications and their many uses, helping them increase public reach through the event.
The corporation further highlighted that the event is designed to improve the digital literacy of the Maldivian community and build smart citizens for a smart city. Moreover, the event will also focus on creating awareness on cyber scams and fraud. Furthermore, the event will see panel discussions, where valuable insights on the benefits of smart city solutions and digital safety areas will be shared with the attendees.
