Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has recently announced the removal of advance booking requirements for Kudagiri Picnic Island, enabling visitors to visit the island at any time of ferry departure without booking beforehand.
However, visitors will still need to book huts in advance through the mobile application, and advance booking is mandatory for room stays on the island. On weekends and public holidays, there will be no charge for travel to the island, but locals traveling to the island must pay a ferry fee of MVR 25 per person, and an entrance fee of MVR 50 per person, with children under 12 charged half these prices, and children aged two and under not charged.
In addition, visitors who opt not to stay in a hut on the island will be charged a fee, and there are 13 small huts and four large huts available for booking. Public ferries are available for transportation to Kudagiri.
