High court today dismissed government’s appeal of former tourism minister Ali Waheed’s passport release case.
High Court’s registrar elaborated that the case was dismissed because it was submitted later than the fixed 48 hours’ time frame.
However, the chance to appeal within 7 days will be given to PG office.
Former tourism minister Ali Waheed is accused of sexual harassment by several of his colleagues and his passport was withheld until the investigation was fully complete.
President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih dismissed Ali Waheed from his post as Tourism Minister last year.
Criminal court re-issued his passport after he requested to seek medical attention abroad.
