Hiyaa Flat tenants will be able to move in by the middle of next month, according to the Housing Development Corporation (HDC).
The Hiyaa Flat project began under the previous administration and consists of 16 towers with a total of 6,720 apartment, making it the largest housing project in the Maldives.
The move-in date was originally scheduled for early 2020, but it was pushed back due to various reasons.
HDC Managing Director Suhail Ahmed told a local news outlet that the tenants would be able to move in by the middle of June.
According to Suhail, the project is approaching completion of finishing work and is proceeding on schedule.
Housing Minister Mohamed Aslam previously stated that the rent for the apartments will not exceed MVR 7,500 and that the down payment will be optional.
