The Health Protection Agency (HPA) has published guidelines for pregnant women receiving COVID-19 vaccines.
According to the HPA’s vaccination guidelines, women who received Covishield vaccine before learning of their pregnancy will be given a second dose of AstraZeneca or Pfizer vaccine.
Those who received the Sinopharm vaccine as their first dose prior to pregnancy, on the other hand, will be given a second dose of the Pfizer vaccine, according to the vaccination guidelines.
In addition, the HPA stated that unvaccinated pregnant women will receive both doses of the Pfizer vaccine.
The Maldives has begun to administer the Pfizer vaccine to people with medical conditions, children aged 12 to 17, and pregnant women.
According to official data, more than 386,253 people in the Maldives have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, with 303,965 receiving both doses.
