The Maldives’ Health Protection Agency (HPA) has released an official digital vaccine passport that identifies the COVID-19 immunization dosage received by the user.
According to a statement released by the HPA on Thursday, the digital vaccine passport will be accessible through a dedicated web portal – covidsafe.gov.mv – and will provide information on acquired vaccination doses as well as PCR test results.
How to access the web portal:
- Provide ID/passport number and phone number in covidsafe.gov.mv
- Fill the OTP
In addition, to safeguard personal information, the portal may only be accessed by using the phone number previously provided to the HPA.
For a limited time, a user’s COVID-19 status may be shared with others by QR code via the web portal, and the vaccination certificate can also be printed.
The HPA previously issued a vaccination card to identify the COVID-19 immunization status, which drew criticism on social media since several nations refused to recognize it.
